Yesterday, Direct Electronics released Viper SmartStart for BlackBerry. It's a free app/application, available for most BlackBerry smartphones, that allows you to start your car from nearly any location, among other capabilities. As you'll see in the video you can, depending on installation, use the Viper SmartStart app to:

• start the engine,
• lock and unlock doors,
• pre-cool your car in hot weather,
• pre-warm it in cold weather,
• arm and disarm the security system,
• activate the siren and
• open the trunk

Again, Viper SmartStart is now available for BlackBerry devices through a free app, available for download now at http://www.viper.com/BlackBerry and soon, on BlackBerry App World.

Now, not only do the iPhone users get to look as cool as James Bond, BlackBerry users do, too!

bluCTRL is a free application that allows Windows PC users that have a BlackBerry to control their PC. This application is great for a BlackBerry with a trackball and physical keyboard (all except the Storm). bluCTRL works over Bluetooth, therefore all one has to do is install the application on their BlackBerry and their PC. This appication is a great way to control presentations wirelessly and for controlling media centers from across a room.
